Eliot Page; a positive example of masculinity?

I shared this news story in a group whatsapp and my year 8 daughter just told me that the same thing happened in her assembly recently.

I mean, this is batshit insanity and totally goes against what the Cass review states.

It’s out and out grooming. Clearly Page is an example of something other than positivity, whenever I see them being interviewed , they seem deeply depressed and miserable.

Are any of the boys in her school going to see Page as a man? Are any of the girls going to see it and wonder if their clothes choices and hairstyle mean they’re also a man? Why are schools still pumping out this unhealthy rhetoric for young teens? It’s insane.

School uses trans actor Elliot Page as positive example of masculinity

The actor, who now identifies as a man after medically transitioning with cross-sex hormones and surgery, featured in a lesson about how masculinity can take multiple forms.

Indeed. But there is no clamour for trans men to be in any spaces or sports reserved for men. In fact, most men would say if a female strips off in their changing room or were to be in close confines with a male prisoner, bring it on. Or if they want to compete in a male sport and get the sh*t kicked out of them, bring it on. Just goes to show, this is is a male driven movement.

Totally agree. even TIF know they are only mentioned when they are if benefit to the men

YourAmplePlumPoster · 05/07/2026 18:26

I expect if she/he is in a male changing room, they will pass as male. But if she/he retains a vagina, they will be exposed to extreme danger in a male prison. Hence the lack of trans men in the male prison estate. I am afraid to say, Eliot Page looks like a masculine lesbian and doesn't pass as male. But probably was persuaded to trans. I have a friend whose butch lesbian niece has been persuaded to trans. She has had her breasts cut off and the whole family is devastated

TheCatsTongue · 05/07/2026 19:26

There were strange cases at the last Olympics where there were some trans men competing. Unless there is an exclusion, they couldn't be on testosterone as that is doping, so essentially we had some short haired women calling themselves men and competing in the women's events.

Premiere is tonight so we'll find out who them is playing.

It must hurt for someone who is clearly disassociating from their female self (as evidenced by their interviews) that the abbreviation for both Ellen and Elliot is "Elle".

Taken from a similar discussion elsewhere: "Note that all friends are almost exclusively referred to as "theys", because nobody even knows anymore."

We recently watched a show on Netflix (Wayward) where the main character is a transman played by Mae Martin (who is supposedly non-binary). The character is married to a woman and we all assumed they were a lesbian couple, until eventually realising people kept calling her "he". DD who wasn't really watching was most surprised when Mae (rather gratuitously) took her shirt off and was seen to have had her breasts removed.

Probably not relevant, but I thought it was interesting that none of us thought the character was actually a man, including DD who is quite pro gender identity stuff.

I suspect the Helen actress was chosen for rage bait reasons, but it really strikes me as far from unreasonable, if she's meant to be the daughter of Zeus then all bets must surely be off in terms of what she might look like. The 2004 film's strikingly blonde cast was arguably no less silly.

But Page playing a man, I mean...

Edited

That is because they are described as blonde and fair in the original texts - both Helen and Achilles.

I watched that too and thought they were a gay couple.

Saw that too and quite enjoyed it, but absolutely saw them as a lesbian couple.

Is that right? My ancient Greek isn't what it was, I've only ever read a very modern translation of the Odyssey, & the Iliad not even that, but any kind of detailed descriptions of characters afaik just isn't the style they were written in. I'd personally have made them look more like modern Greek people.

YourAmplePlumPoster · Yesterday 08:34

In ancient mythology or Homer, light or golden hair (xanthē) was highly prized and Helen' hair was described thus and mention was made about her light, fair arms. Besides these are the Ancient Greeks not the modern day ones.

I read the OP only - and my first thought was “that’s a nice change - a female transgender person “

rather missing the point I know

Nothing unusual about this video, just two men walking down some stairs and then walking over to do some authored autographs, in the way that men do.

Gay Not Queer (@Gaynotqueer1) on X

After viewing this video, I very much doubt Page will be shown walking in The Odyssey.

Oh my, she's tiny! More like a pre-teenage boy than a man.

Lalgarh · Yesterday 15:01

It's that "hopelessly outsized school uniform you'll grow into" look.

solerolover · Yesterday 15:28

She's so tiny!

Also, black shoes with a tan suit??

Lalgarh · Yesterday 15:38

Poor sod. There's a sort of semi snarky "Elliot? Elliot! You're looking GREAT Elliot" from the paps, and the slightly odd way of walking as well.

Scampering.

Comments suggest that a bit of CGI might be used to make Them/him/her appear bigger in the film. Maybe the next thing will be leg extensions.

Peter Pan like. Forever a young boy.

lcakethereforeIam · Yesterday 15:55

Some of those comments are cruel, but that's twiX for you.

She does look like she could walk between that man's legs without ducking.

puffyisgood · Yesterday 15:59

EP to me looks more like an old lady than a young boy. Which would probably fit if drugs & surgery have brought on a menopause.

Mockery aside, i find it so sad really, was such a nice looking girl, obviously gay as a daffodil, just like millions of others... Had to deal with some dreadful abuse, and... was this really a way out of any of that?

Eliot Page looks like a masculine lesbian
I don't think she does, I think she looks like a girl (and yes I mean girl, not woman) in her big brother's suit.

Mae Martin Chatto, literally related to the Royal Family, but can claim a trans/non-binary identity to pretend that they've had a hard life and not one of extreme privilege.
