Organisations refusing to give their single sex spaces policy - David Lloyd for example

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 28/05/2026 16:27

I have been trying for a long time to get a written policy out of David Lloyds for about a year. they are still refusing to do so.

Anyone got any suggestions? And What other orgs are refusing to do it?

Is this the next trench we have to fight in? Getting the damned thing written down?

Don’t you dare try to do trauma trumps on me. When you KNOW I can’t describe what was done to me.

I am VERY sorry for what happened to you. Truly. I’m sorry.

I am at the gym because I’m becoming more and more disabled and it’s a vain hope to try to see if I can keep some mobility. I already walk with crutches and I’m having to use my chair a lot more and it’s hurting the fuck out of my shoulders especially my right one which I tore the rotator cuffs on. So I go to the gym to strengthen them. And I find swimming good because it’s gentle.

if you want to campaign about mixed sex wards in hospitals then do that. But doing so while you support calling trans identifying men by female pronouns is duplicitous

Why do you think I am being combative with Taztoy. I totally agree women need single sex spaces. And we had them until some sexist misogynist men decided they wanted into those spaces. Personally I believe anyone who follows the regressive and oppressive trans ideology is contributing to the removal of women’s rights. Women were suffering for years, and things were finally getting a bit better, but males gotta male innit? We are fighting the real villains, the males who decided they could be comes women and bully women into giving up their rights to single sex spaces.

I said you were being combative with me.

And you may have done. Women like me on psychiatric wards did not. Noone spoke up for us as it didn't affect them. Women are speaking up now as it starts to affect them. And things were starting to get better? Maybe for you they were. All the women being SA on psych wards probably wouldn't agree. I'm glad you find this all so amusing with your 'males gotta male innit' but for many women like me it is not funny. If you are fighting the real villains then get on with it and stop targeting vulnerable women. What change have you personally made to women's situation, I wonder?

I can't describe what was done to me either. None of us can. You seem to think you are the only person who has experienced trauma. The only person who is physically disabled. Lots of us are. But aim your anger at the right place not fighting with other vulnerable women.

I have campaigned and achieved change for women in my area. I have done real good with that that will affect hundreds of women. I support nothing but calling my child whatever I like. You might not agree with it, fine. But don't you dare suggest you are doing more good by going after vulnerable women on a discussion board.

Not a lot actually Between my helping a group of women in Afghanistan to access support and education, supporting a women’s collective in India, campaigning to restore women’s rights in the uk and volunteering at a women’s shelter and raising money for refuge , it still strikes me how much more there is to do. Do feel free to take time to support the vulnerable women in your area.

But as you said to @taztoy, no one needs to go the gym, it is also true no one needs to be on a discussion board do they? @taztoy is aiming her anger in the right place. Those who support the GI ideology who have caused women to lose their single sex spaces.

Taztoy · 05/07/2026 17:08

My consultant has said I need to go to the gym. He actually recommended the trainer I have working with me. And he said swimming would be really good for me.

it’s quite the new one on me that I’m miscalled for following consultants advice.

Are you saying I'm a trans identifying male?!

Did I say they were less deserving? Do please quote that for me. You can either c and p or just quote. Either is fine 😁.

I support no such ideology. So no, I've not caused women to lose single sex spaces.

What I have done is enable women to have single sex spaces who never had them in the first place. The women you all forget about.

But surely you see the difference between going to a gym that you can choose and freely leave when you want. That you would very unlikely be SAd at and a woman who is locked on a ward with men SA them every day?

But males are put in female psych wards if they claim to be women. So women still do not have single sex psych wards do they? Still mixed sex. A TIF was put in a male psych ward and raped within an hour. So no, psych wards are still not single sex.

UndertheCedartree · 05/07/2026 17:24

Taztoy · 05/07/2026 17:18

No.

Then I have no idea what your comment was about. But it wasn't relevant to me talking about vulnerable women locked on mental health wards.

Women sectioned on mental health wards.

This.

plus I can’t freely leave when I’m having a panic attack and soiling myself because there’s a man on the other side of the door can I?

I am truly truly sorry that you were sexually abused in a psych ward. Truly. But the answer to that is to enshrine single sex spaces, not to loosen protections for women by letting orgs such as David Lloyd off the hook, or by talking about the “real” trans identifying individuals (no true Scotsman fallacy) or using wrong sex pronouns because a trans identifying individual has asked you to (pronouns are Rohypnol).

You realise that women on psyche wards has included men who say they are women. Women have been raped in supposedly single sex wards because there was a trans identifying male in the ward who was incorrectly recorded as female?

Not at my local hospital. I don't know of the policy everywhere. But we have never had single sex psych wards. When I was there we had men of all sorts including men choosing to present as women sometimes only at times.

My point was it isn't a new thing since trans ideology came on the scene. At my local hospital wards are now single sex.

That’s good then isn’t it. And it’s all because of FWS and the wonderful women campaigning to ensure sex means sex and not gender.
