Tempest (a TW) is claiming discrimination, harassment and/or victimisation on grounds of gender reassignment. Central to the claim is the existence of the Sex Equality and Equity Network in the Civil Service (SEEN). SEEN has been granted right to intervene. Parts of the original claim against the co-chair of SEEN (Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley) and another party (Andreas Mueller) were struck out or narrowed. Another claimant, PQ, is no longer part of the case.

Please note that Elspeth still has a garden in need of seeds and water to support the ability of SEEN to be an intervenor in this case. The claim originated because she said "only women menstruate" and a search with her name and those terms at the usual gardening website should point you to her plot.

All this focus on a MN thread is barking. Any random anonymous member of the public can claim to work somewhere and get info. Doesn't make it true!

When the verdict is out, either way, I would so love to bring this to the attention of all Defra group staff.

Two things about this line of questioning about Mumsnet. One, there is no evidence that any screenshot was ever sent to Sex Matters or the press. It was good to hear CA telling HH to read the MN thread further where it says don’t do that. And two, there’s no evidence at all to suggest these people are using work systems to access MN, so that’s bollocks too. For example, I have the trial on my personal iPad, TT on my personal phone, and my work laptop is being used for work. Yes, indeed I can multitask, I’m a woman. So of course IT don’t need to block access to Mumsnet.
