Pretending to your child someone else gave birth to them when it was you all along, is quite abusive, in my book. What's FM's answer to "So, Daddy, who gave birth to me?" question?

Yes but if you are only able to empathise with trans people and not the people their behaviour effects it is easy to miss the children having any needs at all in favour of what trans people want!!!

I actually think it's irrelevant whether it's deliberate dishonesty or genuine but very disordered ideas about what being a "man" or a "woman" entails.

For me the fundamental point is that Freddie doesn't have the moral right to impose her beliefs onto everyone else.

And the second the law allows for the existence of biological "fathers" who are actually the biological mothers the law has accepted that "mother" and "father" have meanings based on personalities rather than biological sex.

And that changes the meanings of those words for every single one of us who is a biological parent.

If "mother" and "father" are types of personality, every mother and father in the world now has to either transition to the one they think suits them best or accept being seen as that personality in the eyes of the law.

It's abhorrent and twisted. No one should have the right to impose their own sexism on the rest of us like this.

They have a loving parent, who they've always known as their dad.

The child has a deluded and manipulative mother, and at some point the child will discover she is their mother - not their father. But hey it’s ok to lie to children if it supports your bonkers ideology eh.

She has an odd way of being a ‘loving parent’, attempting to practically and legally deny that her child has a mother, the original and most fundamental relationship. Absolutely cruel.

Her poor kid, the only child in the playground with almost literally no mum (except that it is a lie). When he or she grows up and understands what she did to satisfy her self perception as a man, there may be some difficult conversations.

McConnell's children are 8 and 4. I have no idea, and presumably you don't either, what their home life is like and what they call McConnell. But plenty of kids who've been told that Father Christmas is real are devastated when they find out the truth, and feel they have been lied to by their parents. McConnell's kids WILL find out at some point that their "father" is really their "mother" - and how will they feel then? The deception here is off the scale.

So glad to hear this judgment. We have been threatened for a long time that the ECHR is going to back up every single demand of transactivists. May this be the first of many sane decisions when the demands made have to be balanced against the rights of other people.

Shame Freddy doesn't recognise that, it's hard to believe she wasn't aware of this verdict from the ECHR before she took her case there. What was her motivation, is she so determined to make history, or is it a case of a fake man not taking no for answer as well.

I think most gay couples would at some point explain that since they are both men they had to find a woman willing to use her body to grow their baby. Which -however distasteful to many people and I am one - is at least the truth.

I am not sure what Freddie’s explanation of where the children came from will be. Would Freddie tell the truth that although claiming to be Daddy they are actually Mummy, or make up a lie about a mythical mummy.

Some people even lie to their children about being able to change sex, and become a girl when they were born a boy. Look at that poor eleven year old transfer by his parents at two and now suffering severe mental and physical health problems. Pure evil those parents are. The poor poor children.

Since Freddie has been all over the media for years, Freddie’s children will know the whole story as soon as they can Google.

Or their school friends will be very quick to enlighten them. Children can be cruel.

The discussion is about a birth certificate. Why are you talking about his genitals? Ugh.

Children of parents who taught them it's ok to discriminate against people who are different to them by growing up in closed minded households might be. Children who have been raised to accept others are less likely to be. My kids wouldn't pick on a child with a trans parent in a million years. Neither would any of their friends.
