TTC on Clomid anyone?

BognorRegenia · 10/06/2026 12:22

We have started Clomid this month due to secondary infertility. I've had all the side effects (hot flushes, anxiety, cramps, bloating, fatigue) and am happy to finally be on 1dpo!

I'm putting a lot of hope into this cycle so I'm nervous I'm going to be very left down if/when AF arrives in a couple of weeks. :/

Anyone else in a similar boat?

Just out of interest, how are you getting it prescribed? Did you have to go to a private gynae?

I am not in the uk but it was standard gynea covered by my health insurance. (France)

For me through NHS fertility clinic (referred by GP).

Fortheloveofbugs · 17/06/2026 07:16

Well very BFN at 11dpo for me today so I've accepted that I'm out

Anyone else testing yet?

BognorRegenia · 17/06/2026 07:45

Ah sorry to hear that @Fortheloveofbugs I know the feeling all too well.
I'm about 7dpo, so will be testing in a few days. I'm trying to stay positive but don't have any symptoms.

Fingers crossed for you. No symptoms is better than AF feelings so that's always good 😊

7dpo. Brown spotting but could be from the 800mg daily of progesterone x

SummerInSun · 17/06/2026 23:14

Both my DS are the result of clomid, plus having DH’s sperm inserted at exactly the right time as well of lots of DTD around ovulation. Worked the second time for DS1, third time for DS2.

BognorRegenia · 18/06/2026 00:31

I spoke too soon @FortheloveofbugsI've been having cramps all evening- very much AF cramps rather than the tugging / tingling I'd expect from implantation :(

I'm also a mad woman and tested early, of course it was negative, so now I'm sad!

That sounds positive @Roro27Have you had any other symptoms?

That's fabulous to hear @SummerInSunDid I understand right that you did IUI and also lots of DTD? I didn't realise you could do both, which seems a bit silly saying it back

11dpo negative. I feel in my gut I'm not pregnant and I am okay with it. Just want a new cycle to start so we can try again.

BognorRegenia · 18/06/2026 17:33

I hear you @MultilingualMummySome cycles you just know. I also just had another BFN :(

Fortheloveofbugs · 19/06/2026 14:16

Ah @BognorRegenia that's a shame. I'm cycle day 32 now, 13dpo and still bfn.
Just waiting for the inevitable.

BognorRegenia · 19/06/2026 14:34

@Fortheloveofbugs It is so tough :( I need a little cry then I'll be okay... on to cycle 2 of clomid for me.

This sounds really silly but I feel like my right ovary is my "good" one as I always feel when I ovulate from it.. and next month is due to be left ovary ovulation... so hopes are already low !! Silly really.

I’m so sorry! Here’s to next cycle 🤞🏾

Fortheloveofbugs · 20/06/2026 08:31

AF got me. Good luck everyone xx

BognorRegenia · 20/06/2026 11:21

Crossing fingers for those of us that are out for next cycle. I was feeling really down about it yesterday but more optimistic today. PMS hormones aren't for the weak!

15dpo and definite negative test and NO sign of period. I am frustrated, I just want to start the next cycle!

For someone who usually has an 11 day luteal phase this is a form of torture :(

Has clomid prolonged anyone elses luteal phase?

Actually it is a really good sign that it has: it means there is more progesterone in your system post ovulation, maintaining the endometrial lining. Fingers crossed for next time!

Noshowlomo · 24/06/2026 09:47

My clomid baby is 7 😊 second round of it. It’s tough, but so worth it. Good luck! xxx

Roro27 · 24/06/2026 09:48

Day 2 of 5mg letrozole today. Follicle count booked for next Friday. Good luck everyone for this month x

BognorRegenia · 24/06/2026 11:00

Thank you @WeAreStillHereIt is always good to see the positive! The delay means we'll be on hols during the next "window" which is also not a bad thing :D

Good luck @Roro27really interesting to see how well it is working

@NoshowlomoThank you !! I'm very much hoping it is round number 2 for me too. The TTC roller coaster is getting very tiring at this stage.

My period is here so it’s on to letrozole cycle 2! I took a progesterone blood test and my levels were super high so at least I responded well to the medication.

Woo hoo, lucky cycle 2! I'm hoping to join you shortly. I think AF is put off by the bloody heatwave. I'm probably too dehydrated !!

Hi :)
Did you get clomid on the NHS for secondary infertility? I’m just waiting on my clinic appointment and wondering what our options will be.

keeping my fingers crossed for you for the next cycle <3

Ah, thank you!

We did a private fertility appointment for secondary infertility, just to speed things up. The consult was about £200 and included an ultrasound scan.

I should think an NHS GP would be able to issue Clomid. It seems to work well for so many people.
