Burnham creates Reddit account to hold 'ask me anything' session

PM-in-waiting Andy Burnham will hold an "ask me anything" session on Reddit tomorrow as he seeks to share more about his vision with voters.

The Makerfield MP created his account two days ago, and posted a video on the very active "politics" subreddit asking for users to submit questions before the session at 5pm tomorrow. [Friday, 3 July 2026]

Might still be time to ask him about the Conversion Bill?

If he wanted to show what he's made of he'd tough it out on X.

But no. Of course it had to be Reddit. 🙄

Or have a widely-publicized, televised Q&A so the rest of the country that are not on Reddit can participate? This seems very last-minute (intentionally?). And of course it has to be Reddit.

Women matter but ... sums up our collective lived experience at the moment.

The fact that he’s doing this on Reddit, unless he’s going to chat on a range of platforms, is signalling in and of itself.

All in his blokey Manc accent as opposed to the same words sounding like they come out of a Dalek with sinusitis.

"Tough on women, tough on the causes of women".

😂 Sounds about right.

And "causes" here don't mean the causes that create women, like Blair meant about causes of crime.
No, "causes of women" are women's causes...sex based spaces etc.
Maybe Burnham and his fetish for devolution will mean he'll devolve women's policy to Stonewall, local Pride organisations, all those Green mayors.

I actually thought his response was ok - he was quite polite!

Yes he didn’t ignore her which I thought was good. I agree with some of his ideas and disagree with others. Saw absolutely nothing about women’s rights/safety unless I blinked and missed it.

Trans Reddit were not impressed at all!

I can't see anything about women at all, but then all I see are the responses, not the questions. Can anyone who watched let us know if there were any questions at all about women's rights? Thanks.
