Do jumpsuits suit anyone?

ToadRage · Today 12:27

This has been playing on my mind since my husband said that jumpsuits don't suit anyone. A friend of mine told me the opposite that jumpsuits suit everyone so thought I would have it a go and I now have two. I don't wear them often and he didn't comment when I did wear them on holiday but I have been reluctant to wear them even more since he said this even though it wasn't really directed at me personally. What do you all think?

I am a big fan of a jumpsuit and have been at various weights/sizes but my proportions have pretty much stayed the same. I am medium height, long legged with a soft hourglass shape and a size 10/12 now but have been a size 20.

Agreed - I think if you are well proportioned and hourglass shaped they can look great.

No, not me, I look like I should be working the press in Prisoner Cell Block H 😂

You wish, you will have to topple the Top Dog first. 🌹

My bladder would never hold for long enough for me to even think about wearing a jumpsuit. Bladder aside, I think you need to be tall, pert of busom and small of bottom to carry off a jumpsuit. With kindness OP that jumpsuit doesn’t flatter your figure. Despite your lovely smiling face you look very uncomfortable.

iniati · Today 13:09

I think they look awful on most women. Even women who can pull them off would look better in something else.

But I do have a couple for WFH days because they are very comfortable!

This is me too, I even tried buying a jumpsuit from a tall range and taking in the trousers because I'm only 5'6. But there's no escaping the camel toe.

I think they look great on people with short bodies and long legs, but they don't work for most.

I may have uttered the words 'Camel called, it wants its toe back!' to certain jumpsuited relatives of mine on occasion!

Btw they don’t suit me because I have a long body and always have a camel toe so can’t wear jumpsuits or playsuits

I have the opposite problem. Short body and long legs so the crotch is always hanging around mid thigh and looks absurd. I am also thin with fried eggs and end up looking like Olive Oil in popeye.
Im just not going there.

I think something like this, might suit your shape better? Empire type waists with slim (not tight) fitting to elongate your body and V neck. If you Google your body shape it gives you tips on what things may or may not flatter your shape x

I look nice in mine. I have a few and play suits as well

Wickedlittledancer · Today 13:13

Of course they suit some people, and much depends on the style.

but I’m sorry to say that jumpsuit is not flattering on you. I’m not sure if that’s important to you or not, or if you just wear for comfort.

Like OP, I’ve got a big bust and Empire line just doesn’t work for big boobs. On me Empire line is far too high and ends up sitting on the bottom half of my boob! It’s very frustrating. There are so many lovely things that I just cannot wear as there’s no room for my boobs.

PinkCactusPink · Today 13:18

I like a body suit and I do think a wide legged jumpsuit looks good on me (5ft8, size 14 hourglass)

As others have said, I don't think that particular jumpsuit is going you any favours however, but I think there would be a style of jump suit out there for everyone.

WhosGotTheKeysToMyBimma · Today 13:21

Casual jumpsuits look awful on most people inc OP (sorry). I have some shockers in my cupboard from the error of thinking that I just need to find the right one. No, thin and tall people can look good, the rest of us not so much.

Smarter/structured ones can look good but you have to have the right body shape and the right jumpsuit.

Everyone needs someone who is going to be honest about it! When I tried the "long" one, and went downstairs to show DH his response was "you know I don't care about clothes, but even I know your best friend would laugh and make you go get changed" 😂

I sent her a picture, she did, indeed, think it was hilarious.

😆

I can be a bit too open about things, but only to those I know will take it in good humour. Camel Toe is very uncomfortable besides anything else, and I don't imagine it is great for 'flora' down there either!

LlynTegid · Today 13:27

There are some women for whom it does suit them. Probably a minority of those who wear them, though you could say the same about lots of clothes that are fashionable.

mathanxiety · Today 13:27

I have a structured/ tailored one with crossover top front and back, very wide legs that are pleated at the top, and short sleeves. It looks fine on me in heels. I can't wear casual ones at all.

VegQueen · Today 13:30

There is probably a jumpsuit out there that would look for everyone but I think you could do much better than the one in the photo. I’m short and overweight and love jumpsuits on me even though a lot of people seem to think they only suit tall thin women. The trick is to get one that fits well.

SisterMaryLuke · Today 13:32

I don't think I've ever seen a woman look great in a jumpsuit in real life, so I agree with your husband. Even my friend, who is tall, very slim with long limbs, doesn't look great in hers (she usually looks fab in everything). I think they make bums look flat and long. However, wear what the heck you like and all that.

ReyRey12 · Today 13:32

They look amazing on modles. Then 5'7 chubby me puts it on and they all look terrible.

IffWhite · Today 13:38

I quite like short ones, or tight ones like Donna ida.
Baggy is difficult to do, I think

ConstitutionHill · Today 13:45

They always look good from the front on me but from behind, the arse part always looks so shapeless.

pontipinemum · Today 13:45

My sisters have really looked amazing in jumpsuits at various events. I've never really pulled them off.

I absolutely think they can suit, and that there prob is a good fit for most people

pouletvous · Today 13:46

That’s not a very nice jumpsuit

it looks like decorators overalls

perhaps something better quality would be ok?
