Feminism: Sex and gender discussions
Wishesandhorses · 20/06/2026 21:43

Excellent explanations as always.

I'm hoping Akua may this week write an article on the Scots Govt Prison Service case last week, that was another one that addressed some of the most beloved myths and attempts to override women having rights too.

MassiveWordSalad · 20/06/2026 22:00

Well said, Akua. As always. Ian Dunt have a clue.

I’ll get me coat.

Hedgehogforshort · 20/06/2026 22:10

The Sex Matters vs the NCCP case is a corker as it tries to take the police out of PACE altogether, (thus avoiding pesky provisions of the EQA). and argues that the police can become private citizens for the purpose of opposite sex searches.

1984Now · 20/06/2026 22:49

I thought I'd read it all re gender ideology
Men can become women, stop trans IDing children committing suicide, there's no threat to women, yada yada.
But one response after another to Dunt's Substack said the following:
Trans IDd have always been in women's spaces, thru history to the present day.
Women knew about it.
Women didn't object, they were totally happy.
It was never an issue, only is it an issue now with the emergence of a totally new phenomenon of hate re GC opposition.
Only now are certain women, and men, objecting.
But they never did in the past.
...I'm genuinely gobsmacked that even the most hyper liberal proponents of GI would come up with this.
A total rewriting of history and social mores.
And on a meta level, women are denied control on their sex based spaces today, and denied the history that they had segregated spaces.
They can't have these spaces today, they never had them in the past.
Women have no free will and agency.
And never had them.
The energy expended in warping reality could power the UK power grid.
And the liberal left berate Trump for being a fantasist and liar.

Hedgehogforshort · 20/06/2026 23:08

I have no idea what berating trump has to do with this thread

The liberal left berate Trump for being a fantasist and liar. When in fact it is the liberal left who are the fantasists and liars - for fantasising and lying about men in women's spaces in the past.

Hedgehogforshort · 20/06/2026 23:23

Well i have disdain for all the political party’s in the UK. but i still do see what this has to to do with this thread

The denial is built into the system.

Women have raised issues - they were ignored, dismissed, derided, hounded out. Women's groups that resisted were wrecked or driven under ground.

This is the same denial/lala land that says 'lesbians love straight sex, I've never met a lesbian who doesn't', ignoring that their personal group would never permit a lesbian to say otherwise, and that they have hounded and bullied out every lesbian who would have done.

Women have been excluded, harassed, assaulted, in the case of some of the worst attacks seriously injured. But none of that matters, because it doesn't fit in the lala land reality. So like other inconvenient facts - like sex, biology, etc- it's vanished.

And then there's surprise and failure to understand when finally women force it through courts (with YEARS of documented discussions and evidence of all the historic incidents and issues for women, in many situations) and all they have is to give a baffled shrug and say it's random, incomprehensible 'hate'.

Magical thinking rules, and there's no reasoning with it. But it endlessly proves, multiple times a day, exactly why women still need sex based rights and protections in law, that are rooted in objectivity and not activism.

The sex deniers are as prone to lying as he is. Yet they're horrified by him.

Well i see what you are saying but just seems a bit random to me.

if i was going to criticise any politician on here it would be the women's and equalities select committee and the MP’s who signed the disavow motion. Who it seems to me are really fuelling the kind of nonsense AKU was addressing.

I’m a bit depressed that even winning in law - even having legal rights upheld in court - isn’t enough and that organs of the state itself - Scottish government, prisons, hospitals, police and schools are still ignoring the law or doing all they can to circumvent it.

It really does demonstrate to me as nothing else has done how unimportant and disregarded women’s safety and wellbeing is in the UK.

He's the chosen hate figure of the woke left. Particularly because he passed executive orders banning men from women's sports, and instigated various 'bathroom' acts i.e. said men cannot go into women's public toilets, changing rooms etc.
I don't like Trump but he rode the anti-trans bandwagon to victory because the Democrats would not admit that women are women and that they do not have penises.
I have read Dunt's rant on Substack. I was at first bemused and then stunned by the inaccuracies he put forward as truth and history. I lived through that history and knew he was lying. I am one of the commenters who said he was telling lies.

I'm the one who made the point, sorry if it derailed things.
I'm just trying to say that Trump is the number one figure on the right that those on the left like Dunt say are caving in Western civilisation by 24/7 lying and reinterpreting reality.
And that the likes of Dunt are guilty in a massive way of the same sin re trans, not just reordering reality by saying men can literally become women, but that the furore over this today never existed in the past, and not only that, but that back then we were all aware, almost all accepting, indeed there was mainly harmonious coexistence of cis (sorry) women and trans women.
Let's rewrite reality and whitewash history.
This zero sum game is even more zero sum than ever.

Akua’s analysis is as splendid as ever 👏. I’m looking forward to part two. But yes, also deeply disappointed to see that TRAs reactions over the last year have been to ignore the law, to accuse the Supreme Court of corruption and, as here, to wilfully misinterpret the law. It takes a certain kind of mind to repeatedly insist that black is white like this. I’m starting to wonder how many more women will have to go through the stress and expense of court proceedings to get the message across. It’s only a tiny minority doing this but the damage they inflict on wider society is absolutely disproportionate to their numbers.

Should be interesting the next time a serving officer mutually consents to sex with a member of the public ... which of course PACE doesn't allow. So how is anyone supposed to know when they are in or out of PACE?

That's easy. He ceases to be a serving policeman subject to PACE as soon as he undoes his flies.

I have long since left X and don't see any Ian Dunt crap anymore but I will just say that when my main focus was Brexit, the likes of Ian Dunt and Jolyon the fox killer were the voice of common sense. I can honestly now say that it is no surprise whatsoever that leave won and I despair of some of the loons on the remain side. Just look at James O Brien, logically anti Brexit but bat shit pro trans. These people are simply unable to reflect and question their own views.
