There are plenty of humans who have low IQ/ learning disabilities who do not do this sort of thing, so how the hell was that a defence, worth submitting.

Yes, it’s an insult to attempt that defence. According to a quick google, someone with an IQ in the seventies would be unable to carry out a stage legislator role effectively. They need to be able to analyse and debate complex legislation. Thank god this complete scumbag has been locked up for a long time.

Picked by the Democrats, then disqualified because of an unspent conviction for fraud. Their vetting procedures must be nonexistent. Picked again when he finished his sentence and became eligible. Apparently suffers from mental impairment but still elected. I can understand why the Democratic party is represented by an ass.

@Seethlaw yes, 33 years is a lot, but they do have incredibly long sentences in the US, sometimes several lifetimes... We're used to terrible crimes getting a slap on the wrist.
