Hoping to get some advice here. Mumsnet admin - please don’t delete as am not posting link or details!

I have 5-10 PR copies of my new non fiction TERF book that I can send out to people or organisations who I hope will read it and help spread the word. Not going to name the book as last time I did Mumsnet deleted my post!!

If you were me who would you send it to? The clue to what the book’s about is in my username and it’s an account of the past decade of insanity in the UK.

I have thought of a few people to send it to but would be good to hear ideas.

Who has published similar content? Fiona McAnena of Sex Matters has published TERF Island so her maybe - or buy her book and find out the publisher.

It's unclear what you're asking here: is (a) your book already published by someone and you're looking to send it to someone for reviews or are (b) you asking who to send your manuscript to? In both cases, I think you need to establish clearly who the audience is. In scenario (a), you need to find who writes commentary that reaches that audience and who might be sympathetic to sex-realism. In scenario (b), you need to find out what publishers publish books for that audience. Then find some authors published by those publishers you think are closest to your book's audience/tone/subject and see who their agent is and then follow any guidelines they have for submitting manuscripts.

Just Googled your book. I’d send copies to FWS for a start. And perhaps get in touch with your local WRN group & ask if they’d be interested in hosting a book launch event.

You could send one to Rosie Duffield, maybe next time she is at one of those shambolic meetings of the W&E committee she has to suffer through, she could put in in a prominent position in front of her. 😁

You want us to supply you names and addresses of gender critical women? Yeah right.

If you've written a non-fiction book about gender and sex issues in the UK in the past decade you should know exactly who would be interested.

She didn’t ask for addresses, just ideas. Like Empress I’ve just googled the book and found it on Amazon, I’ve downloaded on Kindle Unlimited. It’s a real book written by a MNer.

@Terfdiarist looking forward to reading! I’d forgotten some of this stuff in the early days but it brings it all back.

My suggestion is to send it to the Women’s Declaration groups of the various political parties, I think the Green Party one exists outside the main party and they’ve definitely had guest speakers on YouTube webinars which have been posted here.

This... Surely you should know who the right people to talk to are, assuming you've done the most basic amount of research for the book.

It looks like a really interesting book! Has it been sent to the newspaper reviewers and Scottish journalists? I'm trying to remember names here. Jenny Lindsey writes for one of the Scottish papers. Maybe that's already been covered by your publisher. There was a terfy book group that met at the national library in Edinburgh - not sure if that's still going. I'd send it to JK Rowling 🙂

It’s free to access if you have kindle unlimited- I have a busy weekend but looking forward to sitting down with it Sunday evening. It’s not expensive as a kindle book either.

Kindle unlimited is a really good deal if you like reading the occasional specialist magazine such as BBC History, National Geographic, BBC Good Food as there are lots on there included in the subscription. Plus tons of books/audiobooks both fictional and not.
