butlins site recommendations

hi everyone !! i need help picking which butlins site to go to next year, what's everyone's opinions ?

the last time my family and i visited a butlins site (skegness) was back in 2010, i was 9 so i don't remember much😭

please lmk opinions for a large group!! it'll be myself, my partner, our child (she'll be 3), my parents, and a few of my siblings (i have 9 but not all of them will be coming).

i literally have no idea where to start or what place will be best bc our group has a huge age range from 3 - 44. we all enjoy regular typical holiday site stuff, and i'll be looking to take my daughter to some of the extra paid activities on site. we also enjoy leaving site and exploring.

thanks !!

Join the Butlins Skegness FB group. Lots of information. Download the Butlins Skegness app. You can see what's on offer. Alot has changed. You need to book some of the shows. Booking opens 28 days before you go or 31 if you buy VIP.

Minehead’s the nicest weather wise, plus there’s a steam train, a large stately home and Watchet to visit for days out

Do you need public transport access? Minehead is nice but not quick to reach especially by public transport unless you live in region already, even by car you need to be prepared for huge traffic jams on the m5 (I cross the motorway daily commuting and it’s a nightmare

i was thinking of minehead bc of the beach and weather but the cleanliness reviews started to scare me💀💀 i can't exactly judge based on that though as you get that everywhere !! i'll have a look !!

we live near bham so we'd all be driving down ! there's so many of us though i fear we'd leave too late and be stuck on the motorway for hours on end

Skegness and Bognor are quite rundown. Skegness has the better pool in my opinion. The whole place needs n overhaul and the accommodation is hit and miss as to quality. We normally go for a room only and a dining plan. We always have a great time and the kids love it. I just wouldn’t set your bar too high and accept it for what it is! The entertainment is great and it’s great for kids.

Just come back from Minehead. We had a comfort plus apartment and it was pretty grim. The floor and balcony were dusty and the building was really run down. We were supposed to have housekeeping but only had new towels and toilet roll in that time.
The smaller chalets looked as if they have been recently done up and looked a lot better.

Saying that though, the break was cheap and the staff and entertainment made up for the accommodation.

see i was debating skegness bc we went there every year (not butlins) bc of my dads family but it's just so difficult bc of the mixed reviews😭

I actually love Skegness Butlins. If you go fairground apartment they were recently decorated or just look on the website at the newest accomodation. Pool is amazing, fair great. Straight out to the beach through the gate. Seal rescue in Skegness town. I also really enjoyed Minehead for the site and the area. As a PP said steam train, lovely bay, NT house, surrounding countryside picturesque. Never been to the other one.

I think if you expecting a 5 star resort then you’ll be disappointed. But if you go expecting your kids to have great fun and just enjoy it then you’ll be fine ❤️

skegness is probably the top choice rn since we went to different caravan parks there every year !! i think it's just the different opinions that stress me out😭 do you think it's good for all ages ?? some people say it's aimed at older people

Please Google Butlins Skegness before you go. You can see the guides...What's on in the break ATM. You can then decide if it's for you. The sky park is brilliant for kids.

i'm not even sure which month we'd be going in😅 i am thinking skegness bc of the beach and the fact we've been before (albeit 16 years ago..) i just hope there's enough for my daughter to do by the time we go ! she couldn't do anything when we went to haven but she had just turned 13 months so i wasn't expecting much !

There is loads to do at Skeggie Butlins. Fabulous new playground that lights up at night. Tiny tots mini fair ground with slower rides. Free character shows in the main areas all the time. It is great.
