Partial toenail avulsion with phenol

Thought I’d share photos of my teen son’s minor op on his ingrowing toenails last week and the progress of healing. He had the ring block local anaesthetic and tourniquet, sides of his nails removed and then the base treated with phenol to stop it growing back.
He found the local very painful but has been ok with it afterwards, only needing paracetamol a few times. I’ve had to redress it every day.

Here’s the before photo showing how ingrowing they were and the photos immediately afterwards.

9 days after. He says it’s painful today but the chiropodist says it looks as expected.

That looks swollen at day 9. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get worse. Thanks for sharing.
