Can’t tell you how long it took me to read that.

@PermanentTemporary My sister does that, drives me potty. She also doesn’t know how to use Our and Are properly.

So what you're saying is that it's a convenient shorthand for the word 'know' rather than people actually not knowing the difference between know/no? Well I never new that!!!

PermanentTemporary · 02/07/2026 07:45

It’s not convenient shorthand, it’s wrong and makes information harder to read.

I know it's wrong. I don't abbreviate anything but from the post I thought it is on the level of 'ur' 'cu' etc, and I was unaware!

It would take me longer to think of the shortened version of something than it would to write the word properly in the first place.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 02/07/2026 11:45

Also hate it. As soon as I see the words 'u no' anywhere, I judge the person writing that and I judge them so hard that they can probably feel it.

I mean, if you're pushed for time ...

CelticSilver · 02/07/2026 12:20

Anyone else remember when texts were character limited?

UhOhRatPoo · 04/07/2026 10:32

Isn’t there an archaic abbreviation “kno” as in “as any fule kno”? Saves a whole letter!
