8/9 DPO Symptoms

Hi everyone!

I'm 30, and this is my second cycle TTC # 1.

I had the mirena coil removed on April 13 and ovulated May 18 (tracked with premom strips). Unfortunately we were not successful on this cycle , but I suppose that was to be expected!

I ovulated again on 28 June (had a very high 2.26 LH reading). We were intimate 2 days before, one day before and twice on ovulation day (I know... exhausting🤣) I felt some twinges from the right side around this time.

Yesterday was 8 DPO and I had some cramping. They quite sharp, like zapping, and really annoying. They were also on the right side but at points to the left. They came and went, along with mild period like cramping.

I got excited, caved and took a test that evening... it was a stark white negative!

Today (9 dpo at around 10am) I got to work and had the sudden need to go for a number 2. When I pulled my knickers down, I had dried, brown discharge/ spotting in my underwear. I wiped with a tissue but the tissue was clean. I had diarrhea and soft stools for most of the morning, and then the afternoon came around and suddenly my belly felt bloated, my stomach was sore, I kept burping and also felt gassy. I tried to go to the toilet (at around 4pm) but was completely constipated.

It feels like my symptoms today have completely switched.

Has anybody else ever experienced this before? Should I test again? Are these symptoms of pregnancy or period coming early? (It doesnt usually come early and the bleeding wasnt red and has completely stopped).

Would be useful to hear other experiences. Thanks so much!

I know its really hard, but just chill! Wait til your period is due, and then test again if no sign of it. Try not to think about for a few days. All sorts of things send our bodies crazy, especially stress!

Did you take a test with first morning urine today? No one can say with your symptoms I'm afraid, at this stage it's mostly down to progesterone which is high at this point in your cycle pregnancy or not. It tricks a lot of people TTC as you look out for all the signs and suddenly noticed things. I'd basically test first thing tomorrow with an early test like first response, that's the only way to know.

As others have said progesterone causes most “symptoms” at this point. And every woman after ovulation gets increased progesterone. So there’s no way to know what is progesterone and what is possibly early pregnancy. In my early days of TTC i noticed every single symptom. After a couple of years I realised they were pretty normal monthly symptoms as I’d get them even if had no sex at all. The few times I’ve been pregnant I actually didn’t have any unusual symptoms at all. Twice I only took tests at 12dpo because I was temping and my temperature went above what it ever had before and both times was positive. I had zero symptoms at that point though. Well no abnormal symptoms. I had sore boobs and spotting but I get those every month.
