Experience with one step cheapies

Hi all

Just wondered if any of you have experience with the one step cheap tests from Amazon. I got a squinter this morning with an 8dpo/9dpo fmu but negative on the ultra early clearblue and a negative on a later one step (though not fmu).

Has anyone had false positives? Or I could be imagining the line if nobody else cans see it. I'm just so impatient, I'm afraid to get my hopes up and some reviews suggested they can have bad batches with false results.

Thanks

I really hate these tests. They gave me false positive for ovulation.

From Amazon reviews, others report similar problems, including unreliable pregnancy results. They also don’t seem as sensitive as other ones.

Buy Easy@Home or MumMed instead—they much more reliable.

I ised them and worked great when TTC no.2. Worked no issues. BUT i purchased aome recently and they have indents wuiet bad.
Your test looks too thick and consistent up and down to be an indent or evap. I would day thats a vvfl for 9dpo.

With my 2nd I had a disappearing positive at 9dpo and a vfl on 10dpo.

All the best

I had an issue with dye running (which looked very similar to yours with the pale pink in the middle) of the two lines. After being stung by the cheap strips going forwards I have only used Ovum, Clear Blue early test - pink and First Response Early tests. Incredibly faint bfps start which I thought was an indent line/evap but an hour later dried very bright pink. Tests got stronger annd clearer each day.

Lots of people do have positive experiences with the cheap strip tests but I’ll only use the more expensive sticks with the plastic.
You are still incredibly early so I would test again tomorrow. I had bfn 9dpo, a vvvfl 10dpo, clearer line 11dpo
Good luck!

Thanks all! It seems there's very mixed experiences with them. I wish I'd read the reviews, I just saw a 4.5* and assumed they'd be fine!

I've ordered a few other brands and will try tomorrow and see but not hugely hopeful!

I used these about 6yrs ago. I had both false positives and when I checked reviews, there was an entire dodgy batch at the time. A different batch didn't pick up that I was indeed pregnant. I'd had IVF so the dates were exact but 4 weeks on, they showed nothing. I also did another test after I'd had a scan which showed a heart beat at 6 weeks and got the very faintest line! To add, that was first morning wee the positive only came up after the recommended waiting time! Sorry, but I found them useless.

Quick update - confirmed BFN with a FRER today so going to bin the rest of the One Steps in case it's a batch issue and get some Easy at Homes which seem to be more reliable. Interesting that the One Steps seem to have both false positives and late false negatives so definitely going to avoid!
