Faint positive at 14 to 15 DPO with spotting, worried about ectopic

Hi, I’m just looking for a bit of advice. I’ve been TTC for 4 years and have had two miscarriages in that time.
MMC 1 was at 9 weeks in 2022
MMC 2 was at 12 weeks in Dec 2025

This week I was due on my period and I took at test at 14dpo and had a very faint line on it. Today (15dpo) I’ve taken a first response and it is faint, far too faint for the dpo I am. I’ve had some very light spotting and some brown discharge but no sign of my period. I’ve attached a picture of today’s test

I’m pretty sure that this is not going to be a viable pregnancy but I’m terrified it might be ectopic. Has anyone has this before?

Hey,

Sorry to hear this. I’ve had a few MCs over the last 2 years and each one has been a faint test. A faint test itself doesn’t mean ectopic (nor does it mean a MC but in our experience that’s what we jump to obviously). Are you in any pain? Maybe test again in 48 hours.

No, no pain at all - I just feel like I’m going to start my period which is what happens each time I’ve been pregnant.

I’m so sorry. I’ve had this too and when I tested a few days later there was no line. Get to your GP and asked to be referred for testing if you haven’t already. I had a chemical last year which was my 3rd MC and my gp was really good and did a series of tests that saved lots of time when I did have my first rc appointment.

My lines were like that with my youngest. Didn't get a strong positive until I was 2 weeks late. I also had cramping like my period was going to arrive but it never did. He's now a happy 10 year old
