Just wondering how long it took anyone to conceive at 40, or if anyone is TTC how long for? I’m on cycle 14 and wondering whether to quit or keep trying…. I’ve had 2 chemicals in that time

Is it your first baby? Are you taking good prenatal vitamins, and anything like NAC or ubiquinol for egg quality?

I had a surprise pregnancy at 39. Other friends had a fairly easy time late thirties/early forties also, but often their second or third babies so they knew there weren’t necessarily any underlying issues

Thanks for your reply. I am taking Pregnacare pre conceive and CoQ10 high dose. This will be my second, I have a 2 year old and it did take about a year with her too, but I don’t have any answers as to why. Just wondered if now age is at play too? But maybe not 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hopefully it’s not if you had a baby pretty recently. It probably wouldn’t hurt to get your iron, thyroid, basic hormones tested if you haven’t already. I don’t know if you breastfed, but I know that affected things for me and some friends, despite having regular periods. I’m really sorry, I know how disheartening negative tests are month after month

Im 40, it took me 18 months. I had a mmc at month 13 followed by 2 chemicals month 16 and 17 . I then fell pregnant month 18 and im currently 16 weeks

Oh wow, congratulations! And thank you that is encouraging. It takes patience I guess!

I’m 39 and have been trying for my 2nd for 18 months now. Doctors refuse to give me any tests so am
planning on getting private ones done soon. Partners sperm test came back fine - my first child was conceived in 3 months so this feels like forever, she was a c section baby so I am concerned there may be a niche or scarring causing an issue (doctors won’t refer for ultrasound either!)

@Riverofhope I am in the same boat as u, ttc 2nd for 9 months, finally got pregnant in April but miscarried at 7 weeks 💔 back ttc (CD 11 so close to O atm) but feeling a little hopeless. Where are u in ur cycle atm?

So sorry to hear that 😞 so sad and so tough emotionally. I’m on CD 7 at the moment, feeling very weird about it all. I was so low last month, but quite a positive person in general but then think to myself why am I so hopeful each month then feel so let down! I’ve started reflexology again, even just for some ‘me time’. Hoping this cycle could be the one for us both!
