UTI?

My 4yo seems likely to have a UTI. I did notice first thing this morning that her pee had a really strong smell but I didn’t think much of it. I got home from work and discovered she had said it stung a bit when she peed late afternoon, then same again just now. I got out a potty to catch a sample but it won’t be a proper one as it wasn’t mid flow so I’ll have to try again tomorrow. What I did catch looks a bit cloudy and does have a strong smell. (A very out of date and therefore unreliable dipstick shows very strong nitrates and trace amounts of blood and leukocytes).

i will call the GP in the morning but this can wait till then, right? she has no temp and is fine apart from the stinging.

we go abroad on the weekend, so I hope we can get it cleared by then!

thank you in advance!

Just a tip for urine sample collection, ask for a infant urine collection bag, it makes things so much easier as it sticks over their gentital area.
Then you take scissors, snip the bag and transfer it to the bottle.
