Middle name thoughts?

We were thinking middle name of Winter. But it's possible she won't be born in Winter. Due date is December 21 which is the first day of winter

What do you think about the significance of a middle name that speaks more to the season we would be going into with her, rather than her literally being born in the winter season?

it doesn't matter whether or not she is born in winter, don't worry about it.

Sorry im not a fan.

If you like the name it doesn’t matter when she is born. Personally, I like middle names to be family names.

It’s still pretty wintery at the end of November!

21 December is the winter solstice.
In the UK, the Met Office take the first day of winter to be 1 December.

I like Winter as a middle name.

It may be officially that winter doesn't start until December 21 (really? Are you sure about that?). Not many people would think the first 20 days of December are autumn though. Just doesn't seem right. Picture illustrating December on calendars show snow scenes etc.

To most people the whole month of December = winter. Winter as a middle name will be fine. I like it.

Sorry, another one who really doesn't like this name ~ it's a really harsh name IMO

Nearly all the children in our family have a family name as their 2nd name and my teenage DN recently told me how much she likes being named after her DGGM. I think it can be lovely for a child to have a connection to their family history in this way

I don't like it either. Call her Something Winter Surname.
