When he is wee and starfishing he could be Hendable-Bendable

Going to have a baby just so I can name it this.

Lilibet is not a name or a nickname. It is a mispronunciation.

It is a name if it's been given to someone legally as their name.

I believe Lilibet was QEII’s childhood nickname. Why do you say it’s neither name nor nickname?

Well, that’s how it started out, but then it became a nickname and was later used as an official name for another child. I know an Elizabeth who was called Bitha by her family. Her little brother couldn’t pronounce ‘th’ and called her ‘Biff’. Pretty much everyone in her life since them knows her as Biff.

Sometimes I think France has the right idea about permissions for names and language...

I went to school with someone who became 'Soggy' because his drink leaked onto his sandwich on a school trip on year 8. Would that do?!

Heno

Surely wait a good several decades before calling him that... if they're in Wales, at least!!

OtterLovesItsRock · 07/07/2026 09:35

When he is born he might look like a little wolf, and you could call him Wolfie.
Or similar.

That reminds me of the scene in the inbetweeners, after Will's 'incident' in the exam hall!

'Bumlog Millionaire', 'Wayne Pooney' and 'Vladimir Pootin' being some of the slightly less offensive ones!

Brenda.

Sorry. I'm with the "nicknames evolve" camp. A nickname comes naturally from the characteristics of the person, it's not something you can decide upon in advance.

MissBattleaxe · 07/07/2026 10:01

No matter what you call him, if he has, say, red hair or bushy eyebrows, or is very tall, or has a surname that rhymes with something, then one of those will lead to his nickname and you'll have no control over it.

Livpool · 07/07/2026 10:03

My lovely late dad was a Henry bit called Harry by pretty much everyone. Also H or Hal by close family and friends.

My DS’ nickname is Bloom, which is nothing to do with his actual name 🤷🏼‍♀️

Peonies12 · 07/07/2026 10:07

Nicknames are given by friends / family based on character or events. If you don’t want to call your child Henry, give them a name you will actually use.

I have a shortened version of a well known name. It's a pain as I have 2 names in fact. If you have an Elizabeth, called Beth. Just call her Beth. Why are you calling your child Henry but then want to call him something else.

OP asked for "Unique Nicknames for Henry" not 'popular diminutives of Henry'.

OP quite clearly misunderstood or misused the word 'nicknames'.
