What are people calling their baby boys in UK in 2026?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

He was bullied for Quentin so he changed his name to Fat.

Veronyk · 03/07/2026 15:37

I know recent babies called Reuben, Remy, Sebastian, Arlo.

I quite like Norman ('granddad name' vibe) but it does seem a little out of the ordinary for his age group. Maybe he didn't feel like being something like Mark or Ian.

Won't be this year but me and my partner have decided on Harley for a boy

Quentin is really not unusual, is it? Most people will know Quentin Tarantino or the illustrator Quentin Blake. We know several young ones, including a 4 month old (London based).

Ziggy, on the other hand, is quite unusual. I wonder what it’s a nickname for?

I’ve known Ziggy to be a nickname for Zachary or alternatively a name in its own right

Bubblewrapart · 03/07/2026 20:19

@Bellybellas @sparklyblueberry2 same, I know a few Ziggy/Siggy's and that's just their name. None of them are babies though. Aged 5-35!

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 03/07/2026 20:49

Arlo
Mohammed
Samuel
Edmund

Only the last one was in anyway surprising!

*edted because I am dyslexic and having just read "Siggy" above typed Sigmund instead of Edmund - which would have been equally surprising

Minasama · 04/07/2026 00:39

Mohammed or variations of it is the most popular baby name I believe.
I like Nathaniel (Nate) and Bartholomew (Bart.)

Firebird83 · 05/07/2026 19:27

Short boys names like Kit, Hugo, Max, Jude, Rory, Otis, Beau, Arlo, Rudy

For girls I’m hearing Clementine / Clemmie, Juniper / Junie, Indigo / Indie, Ottilie, Beatrice / Bea, Mabel, Margot

changedusername190 · 05/07/2026 21:28

Hugo today and Luca yesterday

paintedpanda · 05/07/2026 22:18

I know a Sonny, Kobie, Zion, Theo, Toby, and Leo. I’m sure more will come to mind, these are just the ones I remember singing at our baby classes.

ladygindiva · 05/07/2026 22:33

Most recent I've heard :
Lincoln
Phoenix
Ted
Noah

My DD is a midwife and says that about half the boys she's delivered this year are called Arlo.
