I would like to vibe check these names. Many of them are more unusual so they probably have a stronger mental image or stereotype attached than names used more widely. What do you imagine boys with these names to be like?

Cosmo
Edmund
Hector
Conrad
Magnus
Lysander
Rafe
Ranulph
Peregrine
Benedict
Leonidas

I love the name Magnus, and it's a common name in my home country Sweden. But mostly for men who are in their 40's and 50's now, not among newborns.

It's often combined with Karl or Carl, "Karl-Magnus", "Carl Magnus", etc.

Great name!

It sounds different (and nicer) in Swedish though.

Really Iike:
Cosmo - Interesting, charismatic
Rafe - Cool, sporty, chatty, Irish heritage somewhere
Leonidas - Constantly having to tell people how to pronounce his name. Might get annoyed with being lumped in with all the Leo's when he actually has an interesting name.

Ok:
Conrad - very wealthy, arrogant
Magnus - Strong, extrovert, self assured
Benedict - Wished his parents had just called him Ben. Oxbridge student.
Ranulph - High brow, mates with Lysander, slightly cooler, likes climbing mountains.

Strongly dislike:
Edmund - wet and dreary
Hector - an ancient old man with lots of stories to tell
Lysander - Bit pathetic and dreary, maybe too much in to dreary poetry
Peregrine - Nauseating. Or possibly fascinating and well read. Eccentric.
