AIBU to worry about split contact arrangements for the children?

DH moved out a week ago and is staying at his brother’s flat. The flat is too small for all 3 kids so he’s saying he will only have 2 kids at a time. My only issue is the effect it’s going to have on the other child? Or am I being over the top?

No he has to have all three at the same time. How on earth will he explain to the one he’s not meeting that he’s not meeting them.

he has to find a way to make it work even if it means he can’t have overnights and you have to do all nights until he is set up

How can somewhere have room for two but not three kids? How old are they?

SleepingStandingUp · Today 09:55

Does he mean for sleep over? Thks could only work if he has them 3 nights a week, so one day Ann and Bob, next time Bob and Clara, then third day Clara and Ann. That way they all get two nights with Dad and you get 121 time with them all.

If its for general time like tea etc, he needs to make do and take all 3

He’s having them every Saturday over night, I personally think he should have all the kids in his bed and him sleep on the sofa. It’s only one night a week.

Is it due to lack of space, or does he want to make sure you have one child with you at all times so you don't get a night off? It's a very common tactic with a lot of guys.

Wishitsnows · Today 10:29

It’s probably not due to lack of space. I expect it is so you don’t have a free night to yourself. You don’t get to pick and choose how many you look after for the other 6 days. It’s not fair on the children to only pick two.

No, if he can squeeze 2 kids into a teeny flat share, then he can find a way to squeeze 3. It sounds like his plan to make sure you never get a break. Also, he’s only seeing (2/3 of) them one day a week, so will go 2 weeks without seeing one child each time. That’s pretty pathetic parenting anyway.

Blow up bed on floor, couch etc. He is making sure you never have a child free night. And it is unfair on the kids.
