All those Reform councillors in local government, all 2,339 of them, some in control of councils, need to seriously rethink their party and do the decent thing.

Rethink suggests there was previously thinking, which there is little evidence for.

Fully agree @MsJinks

And none of the information is new, so what has triggered the interest of the mainstream media?

Musk?
The same Russian influences that promoted his cause in the first place?

The idea "the algorithm" can be controlled was abandoned years ago. As people are realising - either to horror or delight.

The upshot is that it's getting harder to predict. (Well, if you forgot that it has no master).

Modern media has been trained to generate clicks. So that is what modern media will jolly well do. And (because "AI" isn't) it doesn't know what "good" and "bad" clicks are.

As Reform and their elk are finding out.

"Nigel has been in the House of Commons now for two years"

Bollocks.

Quite. Sum total is probably less than two days.

Standards Commission is a 'kangaroo court'
Cottrell is 'Christian forgiveness'

Is the new party name going to be Rejoice UK?

ETA or Repent UK?

😂

It was just a thought.

I have spent more time on the loo in the past 2 years than Farage has spent in the House of Commons.

I've spent more time watching the World Cup football than Farage has spent in the House of Commons.

Obligatory call for laugh emoji to be restored.

I wonder if Count Binface could take that on as a manifesto pledge ?

Lisa from Brentwood

’“The fact that you’re sticking up for him just shows what a person you are because you didn’t have a by-election, you were quite happy to just walk across the floor without giving the people of Runcorn a chance to decide whether they wanted Reform.”’

Ooh, burn!

BIossomtoes · Today 16:04

Wow. In the Mail of all places.

Piggywaspushed · Today 16:13

Yes, I suspect many are missing that a substantial subset of Reform voters are simply 'Stick it to The Man' types who believed they were doing that by voting Reform against Starmer, for example. Now it's clearer Nigel is in fact The Man they will vote Binface.

BIossomtoes · Today 16:04

Wow. In the Mail of all places.

You are the the editor of the Mail.

Your analytics are showing that negative stories about Nigel Farage are far outselling the nice ones (I imagine some A/B testing will be involved).

Whatcha gonna do ?

Remember: "News" is something people weren't aware of before. If you have been force fed a diet of "Hurrah for the Nigeshirts !" for 2 years, then even the mildest criticism can pickup clicks. Especially as the source material is now free and easy to gather. Certainly cheaper and safer than waiting to he him tell you to go away in person.

BIossomtoes · Today 16:18

I can assure you that I am not the editor of the Mail. It would be a very different paper if I was.

As Nigel Farages desultory re election campaign spluttered into first gear, like a nervous first time driver pulling out for the first time after gaining their licence and shedding their learner wheels, more issues begin to emerge which cast further doubt as to whether Nigel Farage spent seconds or full minutes on thinking through the ramifications of his decision.

The latest wrinkle to add to the growing list which is topped by the decision of other parties not to engage in Nigels self pleasuring and then encounters the abandoning of the Manchester Mayoral race seems to be a lack of Nigel backing voters over August. This being peak summer holiday period.

True, it's entirely possible and straightforward to register for a postal vote. However the speed with which Reform are keen to put this spectacle behind them makes for a very tight margin. Furthermore, having to engage with Nigel Farage at peak travel time has also started discussion about his part in the ongoing delays to travel to the EU. With some comments already anticipating a chance to "Give Nigel a kicking" for the Brexit he delivered for a mere £5,000,000

With no firm date yet set, and unexpected issues from all quarters, the upcoming by election looks set to naturally attract the sort of attention that - for once - Nigel Farage and Reform would pay good money to go away.

I have said for years that the US wants looser UK gun laws as there is a lot of money to be made.

Meanwhile, Nigel, here's what obeying the law looks like. I can understand if you didn't recognise it at first sight

The weapon has not been brought back to the UK and has instead been left with British officials in Turkey.

Weirdly, thanks to Nigel Farage, I have never felt so proud to be English and British for years.
